It’s amazing what you think about when you have time on your hands, when you have a leisurely shower because no-one is waiting for you and you don’t have to be anywhere. This morning my thoughts turned to cynicism. When did people stop just enjoying something? Why do some people have to knock everything just to show they know more? Anyone who has ever been in any sort of production will recognise the type: the ones that come backstage and declare loudly the the lighting in the second act should have had an extra filter, or some such comment, because they believe it sounds like they know what they’re talking about. A simple “great show” is all that’s required in that scenario.

A healthy dose of scepticism and critical thinking is, of course to be encouraged and is synonymous with intelligence. Constant knocking or finding fault is merely synonymous with being fucking up yourself.

Which brought me to my next round of musings. We need an adverb form of “fucking”.
